Miss Independent

Aspyn is getting so big. She has such a personality and loves to show her independence. She won't let us feed her anymore, she has to feed herself no matter what it is. Here she is eating dinner the other night. She got really messy as you can see.
She also knows how to get into everything!! There isn't very many places anymore that we can put things anymore that she can't get too. Yesterday we went to the bank and they gave her some smarties. I had been giving her one at a time and she was loving them. I put them on top of my laptop and left the room to start some laundry and since she was watching one of her Baby Einstein movies she didn't follow me. I came back and found this.
She climbed up on to her toy basket and got to the smarties. She was standing there watching her movie and eating her smarties.

Camping!!

We went camping last weekend and had lots of fun. Here are some of the pictures that we remembered to take while we were having fun. Here is Daddy carving us some roasting sticks after we realized we forgot our grill.
Here is Mommy and Aspyn roasting the hot dogs over the fire.
If you look really closely you can see how dirty her face is. She would fall down and then take the dirt from her hands and rub it on her face. I think she really liked that.
Can you see how puffed up her cheeks are? (Stayed tuned to the next picture to see what was in her mouth).
That's right, a big marshmallow. I gave one to her while we were roasting them and she decided the shoving the whole thing in her mouth was the easy way to eat them.
The next morning. She looks really happy for how much sleep she got. She woke up at 1:00 and wanted to play. She loved the tent and the fact that Mommy and Daddy were sleeping next to her.
Right next to our campsite was this bridge over the Logan River. Since Aspyn loves water so much (see previous post) this was her favorite thing to do.
Daddy thought it would be fun to take her shoes and socks off and put her feet in the water.
It was just a little too cold for Aspyn.
Since she was teething she wasn't all that happy so while Daddy cleaned up camp Aspyn pretended to drive home. Here she is shifting...
and here she is steering.

Swimming!!

I just wanted to post some pictures of Aspyn at the swimming pool. She has so much fun there and just this last week she decided to be really brave and go under the mushroom all by herself. She kept going in and out of it, she was having so much fun. She just loves to swim!

How cool do these make me look?

Aspyn has a pair of sunglasses that she loves to wear and she actually leaves them on. She will wear them around the house, swimming, and in the stores. The best part about it is that the whole time that she wears them she won't smile at all, she has this "cool" face that she does when she is wearing them. It is so funny. Anyway, I took a couple of pictures with her wearing them around the house and they are too cute not to post.

Aspyn and Water

Aspyn loves water and so whenever she has a chance to play in some she is there in a flash. Here are a couple of pictures that I have taken of her playing with water.

The Sprinklers

Whenever our landlord comes over and turns on the sprinklers, I take Aspyn out to let her "run" in them. She won't get on the grass and really run through them but she enjoys running on the sidewalk behind them.

Irrigation Water
What little kid doesn't like to play in the gutter water. In Logan all summer long the water runs down the gutter for the farmers to use for irrigation. Aspyn knows exactly where it is and as soon as she gets outside she will head right over to that spot to play in it. She has lots of fun.

24th of July!!

So I am way late in posting this, I have been a slacker blogger lately. But better late then never. Josh got the 24th and 25th off at the last minute and so we decided to do something fun!! We went to the zoo on Thursday and a Bees game on Friday. Here are some pictures of our fun couple of days.

"Look Mommy, a Monkey!!"
Aspyn loves water of any kind.
When we got her out of the stroller to go in the buildings she loved to run from one window to the next.
Getting a drink from a Lion.
"Look at me, I'm on top of a Rhino."
On the Train with Daddy.
On the train with Mommy.
I think we wore her right out. This was about 5 minutes after we left the zoo.
Riding Trax up to the game.
This was probably the only smile we got out of her all night. She did not want to sit on the blanket, she had to go exploring. We spent most of the night taking turns walking around with her. The only time she sat still was for the fireworks.
