Our New Apartment!!

Finally, here our pictures of our new apartment all put together!! A BIG Thank You to Jon and Elliot for helping Josh put a lot of it together before Aspyn and I even got here. It was very nice not to have to empty so many boxes. There are still some things we are trying to get use to such as not having any overhead lighting in the living room and bedrooms, having the fan come on every time you turn the light on in the bathroom, and having an extremely small kitchen. We had a huge kitchen in Logan and are trying to adjust to this one.
Here is half of our living room from our patio door.
Here is the other half of the living room.
Here is the dining room/office (it's the only place we could fit the desk).
Here is our really small kitchen. We still have food in a box because we have no where to put it, one of these days we will buy something to put it in so we can stop digging in the box to find things.
Here is Aspyn's room. It's nice to be able to put all her toys and books in there even if most of them end up in the living room most days.
This is Aspyn's "new" duckie bathroom (that's what she likes to call it). She actually calls everything new now, new bed, new chair, everything apparently is new. At least she hasn't called us new mommy and daddy.
Here is the Master bedroom. It's a little bit bigger than the one we use to have but not by much.
At least we have our own bathroom now. Although it's not that great when you have to clean two bathrooms.
This is our walk-in closet/laundry room. This was something we weren't expecting and our having to adjust somewhat. Also, since it's a stacking washing and dryer I have had to adjust to doing wash more often.

We don't have overhead lighting in our house either! The guys from the ward said it's pretty common around here, but I can't figure out why. Now we have to buy lamps for every room! You're so lucky that Josh did most of the unpacking for you - he's a great guy :) It is weird that you have a washer and dryer in your closet, but hey - now you don't have to go far to do the laundry!

Welcome to the East Coast!

You know, I thought the kitchen we had in our apartment in Indiana was tiny, but then we moved to Brooklyn...I have never seen such tiny kitchens as I have here. Seriously -- it's like cooking in a closet! It does take some getting used to, but it comes.

Good luck as you continue to get settled. When you decide to venture into NYC you'll have to let us know. You guys are more than welcome to crash in our living room. We'd love to see you!

Mark was looking at this with me and when the picture of your living room came up as we scrolled down we both said, "Hey, they got a new TV!" lol. What an adventure. Good luck and have fun!

Wow, that brings back memories of driving across the country! What an adventure! Sounds like you had further to go than we did! Your place looks great!
