Sisters!!

These two are definitely sisters. We decided to compare pictures of the two girls. One in the same outfit and one at the same age. You decide for yourselves but we are pretty convinced.

One Month!

Here are some pictures of Anya I took on her One Month Birthday!

A Fun Game!

One Sunday a couple of weeks ago we were playing a fun game of hide the duckie with Aspyn. Anya decided to get in on the action (or rather daddy decided to get her in on the action, she could have cared less).
It took Aspyn a while to realize where it was! Good hiding place Anya!

Our Aggie Girls!

One day I put Anya in her Utah State onesie and Aspyn decided that she wanted to wear her Utah State shirt too. That meant that I had to get some pictures of them together. And since I have been really bad at taking pictures of Anya and got some of just her.

I love this picture. The fact that Aspyn is posing and cheesing it up and that Anya is looking up at her big sister makes it an amazing picture!
This is one thing that Aspyn always has to do when we are taking pictures of the two of them. She thinks she is pretty cute (and of course she is).

Here is another cute girl.
It looks like she is smiling but I think it was just a yawn. Either way it is cute.
Aspyn just couldn't let me take pictures of just Anya, she had to get in on the action too.

A Trip to New York!

When Josh's mom came out to visit we decided to take her to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We (meaning Josh) took a ton of pictures so here are a few of our trip.We had a lot of fun!

Easter Eggs

We dyed our Easter Eggs the Monday after Easter because on that Saturday we spent all day at the lighthouses and then we forgot that we didn't have any vinegar. So Monday was the day it had to be. Here is a couple of pictures of the finished product (I forgot to take some while we were actually doing them).
Here Aspyn is so proud of her creations.
Here is a close up of what they looked like. They came with stickers to make faces on them and Aspyn had a lot of fun picking which eyes and mouth to go on each egg.

A Trip to see Lighthouses!

The weekend after we had Anya we decided to take a little trip out to see some lighthouses with my parents. We went to two different lighthouses, the Sandy Hook Lighthouse and the Twin Lights. We also stopped and got some seashells from the beach. Here are some pictures we took of our trip.

Anya's Story

A lovely picture of me, in labor.

My due date came and went and I was very unhappy about that. The next day Josh had declared no baby day because he had two mid terms to take that afternoon and really didn't want to have to make them up. But my water broke that morning at about 11. But I wasn't have ANY contractions so we decided that we could probably wait. I called my doctor and left him a message but it got lost some where because he never called me back. I had let Josh know that my water had broke and I would let him know what the doctor said. He also had the car that day because it had been raining and I didn't think it would be a big deal for him to take it. He called me in between his test to make sure things where okay but I had only had about 2 contractions in the last hour so I told him not to worry about it and to take his other test. When he was about done with his test I called the doctor back to find out that he had already left for the day and didn't get my message (so frustrating). So I talked with the doctor on call who told me just to go to the hospital in the next couple of hours. Josh got done with his test and came home and ate dinner. By that time I was starting to have some contractions (about 10 minutes apart) and we left for the hospital. My parents were here so that was nice to just be able to leave Aspyn with them. By the time we got to the hospital and hooked up to the machines I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes (we were pretty excited about that because when my water broke with Aspyn they had to put me on the pit because I wasn't having consistent contractions). But when the doctor checked me I was only at a 2 (the same that I was with Aspyn when I first got checked). She decided that we would just wait and see how things were going. After about an hour my contractions had slowed down and so they decided to start me on the pit. After about an hour or so of being on the pit I decided that I was ready for my epidural and they checked me and I was at a 5 so they got my epidural going and I felt pretty good after that. About an hour and a half after my epidural the nurse came back and checked me and said I was about a 6 or 7. She then put in a catheter to empty my bladder and told me to let her know if I felt any pressure to push. I told Josh that we probably had another hour or so and to go down to the car to get some change to get something to eat (the vending machine wasn't taking his 5). He decided to wait a little longer and we were bother so glad he did. About 5 or 10 minutes after she put in the catheter I was feeling pressure, a lot of pressure. I called the nurse and when she checked me she said I was a 9 1/2 and that she was going to get the doctor. I was dying at this point because I had to push and was having a hard time not doing so. Josh wanted to go back out and get the nurse because he said there was no way he was going to deliver the baby by himself!! Luckily the doctor was on her way to check on me when the nurse went to get her so she was right in. They got everything ready and told me to start pushing. I pushed for about 2 minutes (I'm not exaggerating on that either) and she was here. Josh wasn't able to cut the cord because when she came out it was wrapped around her neck twice and around her body once. The doctor was not quite ready because she came out so fast and was in a hurry to get the cord off of her. She hurried and cut the cord, but unfortunately she did that before she had clamped it and so blood went everywhere. But they got it off of her, put her up on me and got her breathing and crying. They had no idea that the cord was around her like that because she had not shown any signs of being in distress so that was good. They got her crying and I got to hold her for a few minutes before they took her to weigh and measure her and get her cleaned off. She was over a pound smaller and over an inch smaller than Aspyn and has a lot more hair than Aspyn did too. But other than that they look a lot a like. We were so glad to get her here and glad that she was healthy.

Washington's Crossing

While my parents first got here to help when we had the baby I was still pregnant and miserable. So our plan was to try and get me to go into labor (plan did not work). But we walked and walked and walked just about every where!! One day I took them out the the Washington's Crossing of the Delaware (a very important part of the revolutionary war, you can Google it if you are really interested). We were very lucky and went on a day when the New Jersey battalion where there practicing for the upcoming season of reenactments around the state. Here are only a couple of the pictures that I took of them.

Here they are getting their guns checked. They have to make sure that every gun is going to fire without any problems before they do anything.
This was a perfect shot of them firing.
Another shot of them firing their guns. Aspyn was not a fan at all and my mom had to take her away. I was looking forward to going to a real reenactment this summer but not sure how that will go over with her!
This is a shot of the Delaware river from the Pennsylvania side from where Washington and his men started their crossing. Very cool place to go and see.

Introducing...

Anya Mali Roundy
6 lbs 3 oz
18 1/4 inches
(For privacy reasons I am not going to post what day she was born. I am in the process of making birth announcements, if you want one let me know. They will be the electronic kind so just an email will work).

Mommy holding her after getting cleaned up.Daddy holding her for the first time.
Big Sister Aspyn holding her for the first time.
Love this face!
All ready to go home from the hospital.
Aspyn holding her when we got home. She was so excited that I came home and that I brought the baby with me.
Happy Easter. Gotta love matching outfits.
First family picture. Not too bad for what we were working with.
Sorry to leave you all hanging. But here is our newest addition to our family. We love her so much and she is such a good baby. She looks a lot like Aspyn did when she was a baby except for the fact that she has a ton more hair than Aspyn did. About all she does is sleep and eat and eat and poop. Aspyn is such a good big sister! She loves Anya so much and will sit and hold her forever. I am doing pretty good. Still kind of sore because when she finally decided to come (she was a little late) she came pretty quickly! My parents just left this morning so I am surviving on my own until tomorrow when Josh's mom comes for a week. I had intentions of writing more but Aspyn just informed me that Anya is awake and that she wants to hold her now! I will update you more later!

36 Weeks and more!

I am 36 weeks now and we are just counting down the days until our little girl decides to make her arrival. I'm good with anytime now!! Here is my belly shot at 36 weeks.
This was also the night before I went in for an external inversion. We found out that she was breech and so my doctor wanted to try and turn her. Yes, it it as much fun as it sounds. Luckily he was able to turn her and now we are just hoping that she stays head down!! The only good part of it is that I got to have another ultrasound and take a good look at what she looks like now.
This isn't the best because it is a picture of the picture but here you can see her face. It's amazing how much detail the ultrasound tech was able to get. Aspyn was so excited to see pictures of her baby sister. And we are pretty sure that she is going to come out with the Walker nose just like Aspyn!

In other news, I just downloaded some pictures from the camera and thought that I would post some of them. Since we watched the Olympics all the time for the last couple of weeks Aspyn got really into it. One night she set up a little game of hockey between Daddy and her.
She was the one that set up the blanket for the playing surface and got the "sticks" (which consisted of her brush for her and her baby's spoon for Daddy) She had a blast hitting her ball back and forth and getting goals!

A couple of weeks ago I was using one of Josh's sweaters to stay warm (because none of mine really fit anymore). Aspyn decided that she wanted a turn wearing Daddy's clothes too so she put it on by herself and then Daddy helped her get the right look.
She looks like quite the gangster.

So in an effort to try and do something more with Aspyn's hair now that it's getting a little longer. We bought some Velcro curlers and Aspyn was so excited to try them out.
Here she is with them in. Her face doesn't show it but she really wasn't excited.
Here is the back view of it. Unfortunately her hair is so fine that the curls were gone before sacrament meeting was even over. Maybe someday it will work.

My Craftiness

I had started looking around at getting those trendy headbands for the new baby because we all know she won't have much hair for the first part of her life (you can thank my genetics for that one). I decided that they really didn't look all that hard to make and went for it. I found a video on youtube that showed me how so make the headband and went from there to this...
Not the best picture because I took it with my cell phone to send to my sister because she is also having a girl and so I made a set for her as well. I am hoping that I can maybe find some other colors of tights and flowers to add to the collection but this is a good start.
Here is a close up of what one looks like put together. I am pretty proud of myself for figuring it out. I can't wait to have our little girl here to try them out!!

Farewell

We had to say goodbye to one of our fish this week. Ever since we got the fish the white one (named Mommy) has picked on the little black/gold one (named Nemo) and it was just too much for him. I thought that I would post the obituary that Josh wrote up, Aspyn and I were at a play date when he took care of it and so he sent it by text to let me know.Just to let you know Nemo died last night, he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:47 AM on February 1st 2010, he was approximately two months old. It is thought that he passed away peacefully during the night, after a long struggle of repeated abuse. Upon confirmation of his death, he was given a quick funeral service and was then buried at sea. Nemo left behind an abusive wife, who is the only person of interest in an on going investigation in his unexpected death. In lieu of flowers, Nemo requested cash donations so that a much bigger fish can be purchased and avenge his death.
(Just so you know, we did get another fish yesterday to replace Nemo. Aspyn picked out the same color of fish and named him Nemo. But he is bigger and fights back so they seem to be getting along. Hopefully we don't have any more deaths.)

Sports Girl!

This last weekend we went to a couple of girls basketball games at Princeton. We just went to get out of the house and give us something to do. But Aspyn had a blast and everyday tells me she wants to go to another basketball game. She even told us that when she gets older she wants to play basketball. Josh may have her brainwashed already to be a sports girl! I took a few pictures of her at the game but since I only had my cell phone they aren't the best pictures but you get the idea.
Here she is watching them play. She knew all the right times to cheer and would clap when they made a basket.
Here she is saying, "Go Tigers!!" for me with her baby duckie that goes with us everywhere right now.
The rest of the time was spent climbing over the bleachers and...
going up and down the stairs.
This last picture she wanted to cheese-it for me but I was a little slow, still a cute picture though. Not only did she play around a lot she also had fun telling me she needed to go the the toilet about a million times when we were there. I took her a couple of times and the last time we were climbing up the stairs back to Josh and about half way there she stopped and yelled to him, "Daddy, I went poo-poo!!" Everyone around us started to laugh and she went on with climbing the stairs. That's my daughter!!
